Tessa McCoy’s hard-driving and intricate fiddling speaks for itself. She’s a 7-time West Virginia State Fiddle Champion who’s now passing on what she’s learned from spending the last 25 years steeped in the world-famous West Virginia old-time music scene.

She made her first appearance at The Grand Ole Opry in 2024 after being awarded Grand Master Traditional Champion, she’s been featured twice on NPR’s Mountain Stage and appeared in multiple documentaries with WVPBS.

She offers fiddle lessons that cater to all levels and learning styles and plays around the region with her band, Tessa McCoy and The State Birds.
